Privacy Policy – Golel Demo
Last updated: August 8, 2025
Thank you for playing the Golel Demo. Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what information may be collected when you play the demo and how we use it. The demo may be distributed via platforms such as Steam.
What We Don’t Collect Directly
We do not ask you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other personal details to play the demo.
Crash Reporting via Unity Cloud Diagnostics
The Golel Demo may incorporate Unity Cloud Diagnostics (Unity’s crash/exception reporting service). When the game crashes or encounters a critical error, Unity’s service can automatically send a report to our developer dashboard so we can find and fix issues.
Data that may be included in a crash report
- Technical data: game version, stack traces, logs, timestamps, error codes.
- Device and system info: operating system, hardware model, CPU/GPU details, memory, screen resolution, language/locale, device IDs generated by the engine, and similar technical identifiers.
- Network metadata: IP address (used by Unity for security/fraud prevention and to infer approximate location), and basic connection details.
- Minimal gameplay context: scene/level name, performance metrics around the crash, and the action being processed when the error occurred (no chat or personal text content).
This crash data is processed by Unity Technologies on our behalf in accordance with Unity’s privacy policy. For details, see Unity’s Privacy Policy on their website.
Why we collect crash data
We use these reports solely to diagnose stability problems, improve performance, and reduce bugs. We do not sell or rent this data.
Your choices
- If we provide an in-game toggle for crash reporting, you’ll be able to disable it in the options menu (we’ll update this page when available).
- You can contact us to request deletion of crash logs that may be associated with your device; please include any crash ID shown on screen or in logs so we can locate the entry.
Analytics & Platforms
If you obtain the demo through Steam, Steam may collect usage statistics and other information under its own privacy policy. We may view aggregated, de-identified metrics provided by Steam (e.g., downloads, playtime) but cannot identify you from those summaries.
Legal Bases (GDPR)
For players in the EEA/UK, we process crash data on the basis of legitimate interests (game stability and security). Where required, we will rely on consent (e.g., if we add an optional toggle) or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Data Sharing
Crash reports are shared with our service provider Unity Technologies solely to provide diagnostics. Platform providers (e.g., Steam) may process data independently under their own policies. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Retention
We keep crash reports only as long as needed to troubleshoot and improve the game and in line with Unity’s default retention for Cloud Diagnostics. We periodically delete older records.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to processing or request portability. To exercise these rights related to demo crash logs, contact us using the email below.
Children’s Privacy
The demo is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with the updated date above.
